Illawarra Birding Tours is not currently operating, as I'm pursuing teaching and writing. The site is being retained as an information portal for visiting and local beginning birders. The Illawarra encompasses the regional cities of Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama, south of the major city of Sydney. It is also a gateway to the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands. Together, the greater region comprises habitats covering beach, bush, rainforest, lakes and other wetlands, that are home or migratory stopovers for more than 300 bird species, as well as stunning scenery.

There are several organisations that can advise you about Birding locations in the region, and which conduct activities for visitors.
